Amidst the hospital visits, we did go out for a drink for my birthday last night. Obviously, the new Nikon went too, so here is a shot of me and my gal, in a pub :-)
I've been sent some truly beautiful flowers for my birthday and this picture is a close-up with my lovely new telephoto ... you know already how tedious this is going to get, right?

The crispness is really interesting to me - makes me see now how the older pics are not so crisp. lol
Ayway, it is a Nikon D40. My reading led me to the view that Canon had held sway with digital cameras at the affordable end and then Nikon came in with this strong model - so I decided we'd try to company who are perhaps trying harder right now. The reviews were good and Amazon had a lovely deal on, so that clinched it!
Annie's jsut laughing today because the new people are out with tape measures telling us how deep the snow is, and to a mid-westerner a mere 6 inches of snow is not a flipping news story. rofl
